A Twist

During the night Both Eleanor and Theodora hear a low, steady sound. They awake and hold each others hands so tight that they can feel each others bones. The voice lifted sometimes for an emphasis on a mumbled word, sometimes falling to a breath. Then after a while there was a little laugh, and babbling. In a second however, the voice cut off with a painful gasp...the girls shuddered. Then it continued. The chapter ends with Eleanor flinging herself out of her bed and screaming because she realized that she was not holding Theodora's hand..This part scared me to death, I had to put my book down after I read that to regain my composure. This is an excellent book.
